ICT

The ICT department is made up of one full-time and one part-time member of staff.  The department uses 2 fully equipped specialist ICT suites with further ICT equipped rooms and laptops available for use across the curriculum.

The Curriculum

ICT is always rapidly changing and has an impact on all of our lives.  All students have at least one discrete ICT lesson per week in Years 7 to 9.  During their lesson, students not only develop skills to attain qualifications by the end of Year 11, but also to support other curriculum areas.

At Key Stage 4 all students can opt for Creative Media or Computing.  OCR GCSE Computing is offered as an option for those students who would like to develop skills in programming, and understanding of computer systems. BTEC Digital Media is offered as an option for those students who would like to develop skills in animation, digital imaging, website design and digital sound.

At Key Stage 5 we follow the BTEC Level 3 Computing course.  The course covers, Principles of computer systems, Fundamentals of Computer Systems, IT Systems and Security and Computer Games Development.
