Year 12 and 13 Health and Social Care visit to Ling Moor Academy

On Tuesday 16th April, 16 Year 12 and 13 Health and Social Care students visited Ling Moor Academy’s foundation stage, to do some work with them about healthy lifestyles, as part of their curriculum. The sixth formers led the younger students in reading activities, sorting challenges and a scavenger hunt, to introduce them to the concept of living a healthy lifestyle. This in turn gave the sixth formers the opportunity to fulfil a graded section of their own coursework about group interactions.

The teachers at Ling Moor Academy were so impressed with how the sixth formers engaged with their students and included all of them in their activities. They were impressed with their professionalism and communication skills, stating they’d have them back to visit in a heartbeat.

Learning outside the classroom is vital to students to give them real life contexts to their work, so we thank Ling Moor Academy very much for giving us the opportunity to do this.
