Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th July 2023
Due to the overwhelming response to the above visit, we are negotiating for extra places.
Places are being allocated on a first come basis and once they are filled, we will operate a ‘reserves’ list, again on a first come basis.
Until we receive confirmation on the extra places from our tour operator, we cannot activate the ParentPay system for payment, including deposits. Once the system is live, deposits can be made and the deadline for this has been extended to the end of September.
We thank you for your support.
Please email Mrs Sansam at the academy if you require further assistance: [email protected]

Dear Parent/Carer
Following the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the Academy will be closed on Monday 19th September 2022, for the funeral. This is in line with guidance from the DFE which states that all settings, which normally close on a Bank Holiday, should do so. The Academy will re-open on Tuesday 20th September 2022, at the usual time. This will allow all members of our school community to pay their respects.
I take this opportunity to express the Academy’s condolences on the death of the Her Majesty and we will pray for the repose of her soul. We will keep her family and all those who mourn her death in our prayers at this sad time.
Yours sincerely,

Mrs C F Hewerdine
Headteacher

In partnership with Anglia Tours, we are planning a 3-day educational visit to the Western Front/ World War 1 Battlefields in both France and Belgium. Initially this is for Year 9 and 10 students, however, available spaces will be offered to other year groups.
The main purpose of the visit is for students to better understand this very poignant time in our history and to support their studies of World War 1 and Trench Warfare. Please note that students do not need to be doing GCSE History to take part in this visit; they should have an interest in it, however.
In the past, this has been an extremely popular visit and students who have participated have been impressed and very moved by their experience.

We are delighted to announce that we, St Peter and St Paul Catholic Academy, have achieved the School Games SILVER Mark Award for the 2021/22 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in
2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward and recognise school’s engagement (provision and uptake) in the School Games against a national benchmark and to celebrate keeping young people active, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
Our physical activity and school sport achievements this year include:
Attending school games events including golf, archery, wheelchair basketball and parkour
Attending school sport fixtures
Hosting and assisting in leading interschool competitions
Leadership activities
We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of physical activity and school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our events possible. We are committed to using the School Games to try and engage those young people who haven’t previously been active or represented our school and to try and ensure that all our students have a positive experience and want to try out new activities beyond school too in our community. We believe in the power of physical activity and school sport as a school and give opportunities to those young people that need it most either as a participant, leader, official or volunteer.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas linked to the five School Games outcomes and we are pleased thatthe hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
A special thanks to:
Mrs Samson
We look forward to applying once again in 2023!

Please see this welcome back letter from our Headteacher, Mrs C Hewerdine.
