School Trips

Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th July 2023

Due to the overwhelming response to the above visit, we are negotiating for extra places.

Places are being allocated on a first come basis and once they are filled, we will operate a ‘reserves’ list, again on a first come basis.

Until we receive confirmation on the extra places from our tour operator, we cannot activate the  ParentPay system for payment, including deposits. Once the system is live, deposits can be made and the deadline for this has been extended to the end of September.

We thank you for your support.

Please email Mrs Sansam at the academy if you require further assistance: [email protected]

Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th July 2023

In partnership with Anglia Tours, we are planning a 3-day educational visit to the Western Front/ World War 1 Battlefields in both France and Belgium. Initially this is for Year 9 and 10 students, however, available spaces will be offered to other year groups.

The main purpose of the visit is for students to better understand this very poignant time in our history and to support their studies of World War 1 and Trench Warfare. Please note that students do not need to be doing GCSE History to take part in this visit; they should have an interest in it, however.

In the past, this has been an extremely popular visit and students who have participated have been impressed and very moved by their experience.

Please contact Mrs Sansam for further details on 01522 871400 or via email at [email protected]

Don’t forget to set you alarm clocks as we leave at 8:00am.

Students need to meet in the hall at 7:50am for roll call prior to departure.

Essential items:

  • Your child’s medication, either prescribed or over the counter. For example, inhalers or antihistamines. (Please check expiry date).
  • Students do not need to wear school uniform, however skirts, if worn, should be just above the knee, jeans/trousers should be smart and in line with school expectations and sensible shoes are required.
  • Drinks and a packed lunch, or money to buy food at the venue (we will not be able to get food outside of the venue on this day).
  • Spending money (if wanted) – food and souvenirs are quite expensive in the venue.

Covid-19:  Your child is not to take part in this educational visitif they are showing any symptoms of Covid 19. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

Please contact the Attendance Officer on 01522 871400 or email [email protected]  if your child cannot attend.

The Championships Wimbledon 2022 – Update

We are having to change the date of the Wimbledon trip from June 27th – 28th as tickets for these dates have already sold out.

The provisional new dates are Tuesday 28th to Wednesday 29th June 2022. Due to the change in dates, the price of the trip may increase by approximately £10.

To ensure the trip can go ahead,  we need to have 40 students who have paid their £30 deposit by Wednesday 10th November 2021.

If you have any concerns or wish to discuss this further, please contact Mrs Sansam either by email ([email protected]) or by phone (01522 871400)

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

As part of our enrichment programme, we are offering students the opportunity to visit The Championships, Wimbledon from Tuesday 28thth June 2022 to Wednesday 29th June 2022 inclusive.

This will give students the opportunity to experience a Grand Slam tennis championships held at one of the most prestigious sporting venues within Britain. Students will have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and watch world class tennis, with tickets for seating on the newly refurbished No.3 court. They will also have access to all the outside courts within the Wimbledon complex and the infamous Henman Hill.

We estimate the cost of the visit to be £220. This includes an overnight stay in a London hotel with breakfast the following morning, two picnic lunches, sightseeing and a visit to either the London Science Museum or the Natural History Museum.

Please note only three meals are provided within the cost of the trip so please budget for extra meals and refreshments throughout both days.  We recommend a budget of £30 per day.

To secure a place, please ask your son/daughter to collect a letter from the library or print out the letter from here: click here for full letter. We also request an initial non-refundable deposit of £30, to be paid via our ParentPay system by 20th November 2021. Thereafter, we are happy to accept small instalments to suit yourself; however, in order to fulfil our contractual obligation to the travel company, we ask that your account is fully paid by 25th April 2022.  We ask for the following payments to be made by the corresponding dates:

  • 10th November 2021 – £30 deposit to secure your booking.
  • 12th January 2022 – £70
  • 11th April 2022 – £110 or remaining balance to be paid in full.

The anticipated price is based on at least 40 students attending the trip. Until we receive this number of deposits all monies will be held by the Academy then paid to Sport Experiences after the 40th deposit.

I must state that all deposits will be held by the Academy until paid to Sport Experiences at which time will become non-refundable unless a replacement can be found.
